40K Video of the Week

Each week I wanted to bring a little humor in to the world of 40K and find all of the funny stuff I could on YouTube.

This week, a Christmas Special!

Enjoy!

Tentative Schedule for 2012 Cellar Dweller Events

So we wanted to let everyone know what we would like the year of 2012 to look like for our local tournament circuit. As it stands now, we have two stores (Gatehouse Games in Duncanville, PA and Toy Soldiers Gallery in Ligonier, PA) willing to support us and host our events. Ideally, we would want 4 major events at each location, each contributing to our Invitation Only 40K Championships in December. Well also are looking into running smaller, introduction events of smaller point values for new and younger players that will not count towards the championship ranks.

The 40K Championships:

We really like the idea of the keeping a tally of the best players over the course of a year, not just a single event, and crowning a champion at the end of the season. This year, we will be keeping score at all of our events. Your Win-Lose record, Battle Points, and Victory Points scored over the course of your top three events (dropping your worst performances) will be added up and the top 16 players at the end of the year will be invited to play for the title of 40K Champion 2012. The more events you participate in, the better your chances of hitting the top 16. We have some fun stuff planed here too, including a ‘Stanly Cup’ style trophy we want to build and engrave the champion’s name and year on (but would live in the store of the winner for the year), and a special trophy they can take home. We are keeping that one a surprise for now.

The Winner Take All – Last Man Standing

A Free tournament for all, we like the idea of a fun, less competitive event, and this will be the big one for the year. Each player will bring a 1250 point list and will be placed on a table with up to 5 other players. Then it is a knock down drag out fight to the finish, the last remaining player on each table will move their remaining armies to the final table where a final winner will be declared.

Anyway, here is what we are thinking right now for a schedule:

Gatehouse Game

March 24th, 2012 March Massacre 1500 Points
May 2012 ??? 1850 Points
August 2012 ??? 2000 Points
December 2012 40K Championships 2000 Points

Toy Soldiers

February 2012 Battle for Da Burgh 1850 Points
April 2012 ??? 1500 Points
July 2012 Land Man Standing 1250 Points
October 2012 ??? 2000 Points

Any ideas, comments, or anything else you would like to contribute, please feel free to add a comment at the bottom here.
